Hyatt House
Bobby Gosal grew up in India and earned a master’s degree in economics, but being an entrepreneur was his dream. He moved to California in 1982 and found work as a janitor at a rice mill. Just one year later he opened a Mexican grocery store, followed by a sports bar and a liquor store. Soon, Bobby had four stores, which he sold in order to purchase larger stores and large plots of land. He never took a day off but says he was very happy living in a country filled with opportunity.
Bobby gained confidence as a business owner and shifted his focus to hospitality. He opened the Sheraton Four Points in Natomas in 2007 with SBA 504 funding, and immersed himself in learning the industry. In 2021 he teamed with Bay Area Development again to construct a 201-room Hyatt Place/Hyatt House in Natomas. This is his largest venture to date, but he tells entrepreneurs they can start small, just like he did. The important thing is simply to start, and to believe in your potential.
